Of course, the Battlefield franchise could surprise fans with something completely new for the series. Perhaps not as outlandish Battlefield Hardline , but something like a completely new time period or setting. There's still a variety of conflicts throughout world history that many games, not just Battlefield , still haven't tackled in a video game. Conflicts like the American Civil War, the Korean War, and the modern 20th century Middle Eastern conflicts come to mind. Any one of those wars would be a wild departure for the series thus far, but would be incredibly unique.
