Sova's Recon Bolt serves as a great reconnaissance tool that conserves her mobility. Unlike other scouting abilities, Sova only sees enemies within her bolt's line of sight, meaning she can immediately know if her destination holds any r

Unfortunately, new Valorant players might find it tricky to adjust their playstyles whenever they switch from one character to the next. And with each character possessing unique skills and abilities, just what are must-have abilities per ag

Sometimes, enemies are going to be mindful of the fact you've pulled out your Showstopper, and are going to get into some pretty decent cover, be it normal map cover or with one of Sage's walls. But, keep in mind, you can always use Blast Pack to get yourself a new angle that they aren't going to be able to hide from, at least not with any swiftn

A couple of things to keep in mind about Showstopper is that you have to fire it in a certain time from once pulling it out, thus the Rocket Fuse in the picture above. Also, when you fire it, the force of it is going to knock you back a few feet, so make sure you're mindful of that and don't step back somewhere you don't want to

Other Raze players might hate Boom Bot, as it takes a long time to deploy. However, Raze players should look at Boom Bot as more of a zoning tool, as the bot immediately chases opponents that meet its cone range, revealing lurk

There are ten different characters (Agents) currently available to play in the Valorant closed beta, each of them fitting into one of four different classes: Controller, Initiator, Sentinel, and Duelist. Each of those four roles has different strengths and weaknesses, and each character accomplishes the goals of their roles in a different

For years, the PC's esports landscape has been largely dominated by three companies: Valve, Activision Blizzard, and Riot Games. These competing juggernauts seem to be locked in a constant cycle, borrowing core elements from each other's games to bolster their own esports titles - or to create new ones. Riot Games' Valorant _ is the newest example: a free-to-play, team-based tactical shooter in the vein of _Counter-Stri

Since the Blast Pack can launch you into the air, it's possible to get into some pretty creative spots with Raze. Getting into those spots someone might not look right off the bat is a fantastic way to land yourself in the easiest gunfight of your life, so make use of the possibilit

A standard match of Valorant pits two teams of five players against each other in a round-based battle to plant a bomb or protect the targeted sites. Teams are made up of different playable Agents, each with their own class and special abilities. Guns and body armor are purchased at the start of every round, and ability charges must be bought with earned cash as well. One side begins the match as Attackers while the other takes the job of Defenders, and these roles are swapped at the midway point in each match. Bullet spread, noise, positioning, timing, and more are all major factors to consider as both teams fight to win 13 rounds and claim vict

Although Valorant holds a wealth of potential, it's obvious that it is still a very young live-service game. The 1.0 version only has four maps available at launch, and while each one is fun to play and learn, there's a high chance of getting the same map twice or more in a row. Strangely, there's also no ranked mode at the time of this writing. In fact, Read the Full Guide only modes playable in the game right now are standard unranked and Spike Rush. Spike Rush is a shorter 4-round mode where everyone has a randomly selected gun and all attackers have their own bomb. This provides a decent way to familiarize oneself with Valorant 's mechanics and weapons, but also exposes its lack of a substantial tutorial for anyone who hasn't already played Counter-Strike ,

As mentioned before, Viper's Pit is going to create some entirely uneven gunfights. If Viper is in the Pit and already has some good idea of where to look for enemies, those enemies are going to have a severely difficult time winning a gunfight against her. And, due to the absolutely bonkers radius this ability has, you can really lock down a huge area of the

Another form of visual cover that Viper has access to, the Toxic Screen can be used in a lot of the same ways that the Poison Cloud can be, though because of it's different shape, it can be used in slightly different ways. Because it's set up in a line instead of a sphere, it's pretty easy to use to simply cover a doorway, or use as a way to dance in and out of an enemy's line of sight without necessarily hampering what you can see too m

Placing a camera at the above locations is not enough to make a difference on its own. The best Cypher players will be up to date on their map knowledge with each new patch, will experiment to learn which locations suit them best, and above all else, will use their mics to communicate effectively. A good Cypher can make games feel as though one were cheating thanks to the information made available, and this is something every player should learn to do, even if not planning to play the agent exclusiv
